      The famous Swiss psychoanalyst and astrologer, Dr Karl Jung wrote: “Whatever is born or done this moment of time, has the qualities of this moment of time”, from which the need for a perfect knowledge of the planetary place in the heavens at any moment is obvious. An accurate ephemeris or almanac, or panchang as it is known in India, is an essential tool in the hands of a workman of astrology. It aids him as does finance to a businessman.
      Krishnamurti’s Ephemeris in four volumes covering the years 1900 to 1970 and Mahabala’s Ephemeris for 1971 to 1980 containing the daily positions of all planets including the trans-saturnine planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto have been published earlier to cater to the demand from readers for a convenient, accurate and inexpensive volume. Accordingly, the geocentric longitudes of the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto to the nearest minute of arc are given here, for every day at 5.30 a.m. (Indian Standard Time) and for the corresponding standard time of any country or zone within a large-sized country equivalent to 5-30 a.m. (IST). The Sidereal Time expressed in hours, minutes and seconds is computed for every day at 5.30 a.m. (Local Mean Time) at 82-30 East Longitude, the longitude of Central Meridian of India. This Sidereal Time can be adjusted to the Standard Meridian of any country or zone with the help of an exhaustive table appended.
      Exhaustive guidelines have been included in the volume as to how to use the ephemeris to calculate the position for any moment of the day.
