      As is the tool, so is the subject. The astrological chart to correctly reflect the planetary positions has to be made on precise data of the dimensions of space and time. The exact co-ordinates or latitude and longitude of the situation of the nativity and properly corrected mean local time are most essential for this purpose.
      Thanks to the efforts of our forerunners, there are many Panchangas and other publications giving the latitudes, longitudes and mean local times of some important places in India. But births are not restricted only to such places. So there is still room for addition to this information, taking up a number of villages and towns not yet dealt with by the extant glossaries.
      The places given in the work are so chosen that a desired town can be located within 10 km of any of the towns herein listed. Thus it saves the trouble of compiling the aerial distance between the places of arriving MLT.
      The present compendium fills up his demand and every care has been taken to make this correct as far as possible. In that the data furnished herein are not repetitive of the information already available in existing publications, it will be found that this book is a valuable adjunct to the existing material and thus a necessary appendix.
