Study landscape painting and drawing with professional art instructors with years of experience teaching painting and drawing to art students at all levels — from beginner to professional artist. Intensive professional instruction in studio classes and in the landscape plus studio critiques and interchange with your fellow art students from all over the world.
ArTravel, the art study travel program of the Brentwood Art Center has conducted painting workshops in Europe every year for the past 10 years in beautiful traditional towns in Italy and France such as Assisi, Lake Como, Menaggio, Lucca, Nerac and Canisy. These art classes are for those who wish to explore their artistic creativity and for advanced artists who want to develop further and need studio space and transportation to beautiful alla prima landscape painting locations.
Instructional art programs in oil painting and watercolor painting for beginning artists, intermediate artists and an independent artist program for professional artists or advanced students capable of working on their own with critiques from the instructors. Studio space for all students plus daily trips to the landscape to paint alla prima.
Also dinners at fine restaurants, tours, lectures, shopping trips and other optional group activities. We stay in a five star hotel right on the lakeshore with an exceptional breakfast service and fine dining in the evening.
This year's program is in Menaggio, a beautiful Italian town on the shores of Lake Como, just opposite Bellagio — famous not only for it's beauty but for it's fine shopping. Nearby is Milan where you can view Da Vinci's The Last Supper as well as other great works of art.
