SMILING HEART MUSIC:
Today's world needs life-affirming, peace-making, heart-warming music celebrating love, gratitude, family/friends and service. This site was created to spread such "metta-physical" music wherever it's needed most. I'm Mel White and I'm a musician who lives in NJ.
I travel to New Thought churches, traditional churches, wherever there's a piano and seats, in my self-appointed role as "God's Troubadour". My CDs include group songs for church services; one song is available in a Unity songbook, and one won a Unity first prize for rewrite of a traditional holiday song. On my vocal CDs you'll hear singers like Denise DiRenzo, Timothy Walton, Elaine Silver, Amanda Satchell, Scott Coulter, Jenny Giering and many others. All money (unless I need milk!) goes into making the next CD, paying singers/instrumentalists, and tithing to people/organizations who make it possible for us to share this music.
BIG NEWS -- the new CDs may be out for the holidays after all! (Say a prayer.) They are "Back in the Day" -- the "trunk songs" those of you who were around 30-40 years ago knew and loved -- and "Rise to the Occasion", my newest metta-physical songs. Our benefit concert for The Smile Train on 7/19 was a success, and we raised $770 -- enough for cleft palate operations for 3 children who otherwise could not afford them. Our holiday concert coming up on December 14 (a Sunday) at St. Andrew's church in South Orange NJ will be for the benefit of NJ Shares, an organization that helps people who are struggling to pay their heating bills this winter. Pat Wictor (www.patwictor.com) is my latest "discovery" (okay it takes me a while to find people sometimes!) -- he is a wonderful magical folksinger/songwriter/guitarist and he sings on my new CDs which are about to come out. You HAVE to hear him!
David Roth is a storyteller/"folk icon". His songs are Smiling Heart Music personified. I particularly love "May the Light" (great for Thanksgiving) and "Rising In Love" (not falling). He travels all over, home-based in MA; go to www.folkera.com/dr. His songs cross all lines of age-sex-race to touch everyone in the room. You cannot go wrong buying any of his CDs! I am blessed to have him sing "Drugstore Angel" on my new "Sea of Grace" CD.

Elaine Silver (www.elainesilver.com) sings on a couple of my CDs -- I'm excited that she has recorded 3 of my new songs for one of my two new CDs in the works. Ask me for the mp3 of "God Bless Humanity." I have yet to hear a more beautifully pure and accurate a cappella voice than Elaine's. She pops those notes out one after another. "Faerie Elaine" defies description -- go to her site.
Heidi Muller, folksinger-songwriter, plays mountain dulcimer and guitar. Her beautifully crafted, simple songs perfectly suit her pure, natural voice. Her site: www.heidimuller.com. Susan Werner (www.susanwerner.com) is an unexpected surprise, an impressive combination of songwriting, vocal/piano/guitar chops, intelligence, heart, wit and some secret ingredient that makes the difference, like a pinch of clove in wild blueberry jam. What can I say, this is already a Susan Werner commercial. See for yourself. I am totally in love with new CD "The Gospel Truth", start there.
Robert Hitz's piano music (www.RobertHitz.com) is elegant, peaceful and intelligent. It takes you to a more centered, calmer place.
David Ault creates and sings "visionary vocals", is a Relig. Science minister, inspirational speaker and now an AUTHOR! No matter which method he uses, he will touch your heart. Check out his website -- www.consciousco.com. David has recently moved to Alabama.
Daniel Nahmod is a LA-based composer/singer with fearless vocal power, great piano & guitar talent. His music makes you "laugh, cry, love and learn". His energy level defies comprehension (I never "feel my age" except in Daniel's presence; he's truly the Energizer Bunny!). My favorites change daily, but the songs "Let Your Love Unfold", "One Power" and "We Can Try" are forever ones. Melissa Phillippe (www.MelissaPhillippe.com) has been called "Bonnie Raitt meets God". She is a Relig. Sci. practitioner and a Mentor of the Toltec way, working with Don Miguel Ruiz ("The Four Agreements" and other life-changing books). One of Melissa's songs reminds me EVERY DAY that in order to heal it, you have to FEEL IT.
Karen Drucker (www.karendrucker.com) is a tall bodacious redhead who writes chants and various spiritual songs. Often works with David Ault, espec. at New Thought conferences.
Christy Snow once sang a song of mine at a conference at Asilomar -- she's a warm-hearted, fun person with a down-home, shooting-from-the-hip way of being that's delightful. Listen (www.christysnow.com) and get back to basics.
Renee Leboa (www.reneeleboa.com) -- sings my song "All Is Well" on her CD. She and partner Christy Snow (co-pastors) have gone all over the country, taking it by spiritual storm.
