The Wetendorfs
This is the most incredible letter we have ever written! The opportunity to love and raise your child would be a tremendous honor for us. Thank you for your time and consideration. We hope this letter will give you a sense of who we are and how much we dream of sharing our life with a child. We realize that your decision to make an adoption plan is very emotional and a courageous one. We hope that we can put your concerns at ease as we share ourselves with you. Should you choose us, we will provide the very best we can, in a Christian home filled with unconditional love, warmth, happiness, support and kindness. Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Brent and Becky Wetendorf.
We have been married for almost 4 years. I can say that we have a great relationship that includes an awesome love for God and love and respect for each other. We truly are BEST friends! We met in the Radio business. Since radio is a love for both of us, it made sense that we would have some kind of connection there. After dating for about 6 months we decided that we wanted to make it official. I come from a wonderful family and grew up as an only child. I have a sister that grew up with my biological Mother. Later in life we got to know one another and have been building our relationship since. My father was in the military and stepmother (since I was 18 mo.old) worked outside of the home.
Throughout my childhood I saw the extreme support my family had for each other. While my Father went to school to complete his nursing degree, my Mother worked hard and supported us. When it was her turn, he gladly returned the support. I was raised in a loving, happy, accepted and safe environment. Rare these days, I can surely say; I really had a great childhood!
If there is anything that has been instilled in me, it’s honesty. I’m a very honest person. People would describe me as fun loving and outgoing. I enjoy getting to know people and understanding why they are the way they are. I also enjoy coffee with my girlfriends, Bible study groups and shopping of course. I also do a lot in the community for local organizations, as being in radio has really been my venue. My heart though belongs to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Every year I go there and visit with the families who are fighting the battle of their life with their children. It’s amazing to see these families stay so strong for their babies! The experience is very humbling to me. I also love to take vacations with our family. I enjoy reading, teaching, gardening and Animals! (We have three!)
Brent is from Texas. He was raised in Midland. He was raised with his mother, stepfather (since he was a year old), and his brother.
Brent was lucky enough to know who his biological Father was and had contact throughout his childhood. Because of that he had the opportunity to be a part of two families. It was a great experience for him! During his childhood he had many opportunities that not a lot of children have. He comes from a great family with good morals and values! Brent loves sports and enjoys playing golf. He has a love for aviation and has flown recreationally since he was 14 years old. His best attributes would have to be his patience and his work ethic. Throughout our marriage he has taught me many things, one of them patience. He is a hard worker, focused and sensitive to others and their needs. He is warm, loving and driven. He will graduate in May of 2005 with his Nursing RN degree and will then attend grad. school and be in the Anesthesia field.
We live in a nice four bedroom home with a neighborhood full of children, three dogs and the only thing missing is our child. We have longed to have a family since the day we were married. After years struggling with infertility treatments, we have prayed for God to show us the answer. That is why I am writing this letter to you. I believe we have so much to offer a child! Such as a loving, nurturing, happy home with support, protection, and encouragement. Our child will enjoy experiencing several activities such as Soccer, Dance, Music etc. so that he/she may find their many talents,likes and dislikes. We will be envolved with every aspect in our childs life. We look forward to so much! Taking family vacations and attending activity events and Church events, being neighboorhood "TAXI" parents and MOST of all Bedtime and it's stories! We just can't hardly wait! Because of our upbringing we value the importance of birthparents/biological parents and the role that they play. Thank you so much for taking the time to hear about us. We hope that you may know us a bit better now. Thank you again for your consideration.
