Our post is very active in the community and we are constantly working for our Veterans. We are always asking for volunteers.

Department of Colorado Convention was held in Denver at the Mariott on June 21-24. We want to Thank everyone who took the time from your busy schedules to attend. It was a fun filled event for all.
Our post is proud to announce that our auxiliary unit has a member who ran for state President. Elizabeth Deming 1st. Vice President for the year 2000-2001 ran for Department President for the year 2001-2002. We are proud to say that Elizabeth was elected as the State President for 2001-2002. Congratulations Elizabeth!!
Danny DuMiller was elected as our State Commander for the year 2001-2002. Congratulations Danny!! We know it will be a fun filled and productive year with these two as our leaders for the year. We are extremely proud of the both of them.
Our Flag program was a huge success as always in the community. The Flags began flying in front of each supporting business this past Memorial Day. We personally thank each and every supporting business in the Gunnison community for your support of this very needed program.
We had our annual 4th of July BBQ on Wednesday July 4, 2001 here in Gunnison. We had a great time, fantastic weather and we are proud to say this was a complete Legion Family event. The Legionaires had their usual BBQ, hot dogs, brats, hamburgers and cheeseburgers with all the trimmings. The SAL sold snow cones, and the Auxiliary had a pie sale. We were all involved. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this event successful.
