THE SPIRAL WRAP
The purpose of the spiral wrap is to provide 100% stability when the rod is under a load. No, the rod will not twist and it is excellent for saltwater fishing as well. All rods with the guides on top, once loaded enough, will attempt to twist. Spiral wrapped rods do not try to twist, nor could they even if they wanted to. You may find that a spiral wrapped rod reduces the amount of effort required on your part to fight a fish. Properly executed, you give up nothing in terms of casting.
