ALISF Links page
UPDATED: 8/5/07
I've cleaned up the list a bit, getting rid of bad links, and deleting all of the rather redundant "update" listings.
The ALISF page was getting kind of crowded with all the links, so I have made a separate links page.
The Inspiration is Dead
This whole web page was started because of a ridiculous christian web page that claimed that the TV show Lost in Space was a cleverly disguised metaphor for christianity. That page is no longer on the internet, but it is archived here.
It's rather strange that the page that inspired this one is now gone-- and the page it inspired lives on, as prosperous as ever.
General Links, Listed Randomly
The Sumissive jesus Talking Prayer Answering Head novelty
"jesus said he would answer all our prayers, but in all honesty, when was the last time he answered yours? With the Submissive jesus Prayer Answering Head, the power of god is in your hands."
What Would jesus See?
"Religious sightings, from the Virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich to Jesus on a sonogram. Mother Mary come to me. Let it be. Let it be."
As a personal note, years ago I washed out an old Pluto Water bottle so that I could fill it with home brew. I had used a solution of baking soda and water. The baking soda solution in the bottle dried in such a way as to either form an image of jesus himself, or of a heavy metal rocker.
Did I put the bottle on a pillow, and have people come from far and wide to venerate it? Nope. I washed it out, rinsed it with a solution of sodium metabisulfate, and filled it with home brew. That jesus fellow ain't got no business putting his face on my stuff.
Counterfeit Bibles: Counterfeit Problem
Watch with awe, wonder, and laughter as christian droolers attack the very book they worship!
Godtube
This is either a screamingly funny page by brain-dead believers-- or biting, screamingly funny satire by an Atheist. Either way, it will leave you laughing for hours.
Get Behind jesus!
Proof of jesus! No ifs, and, or...
Sometimes real life is infintely more bizarre than satire. There is no need for any explanation. Click here and be amazed.
Proof That Right to Lifers Are Idiots
In 1999 The Onion, an online satirical journal, published a satirical article about abortion. No sane, rational person would take it seriously. Which is why a pro lifer decided that it was the gospel truth.
The War on Easter! Sponsored by the filmmaker who made "The God Who Wasn't There" and "The Beast". Find out how you can partricipate!
The Target Boycott That Wasn't
"Oh, those christian fundies. They love to make threats against businesses that don't get on their knees and kiss wrinkled christian ass."
The Soul Winning Robot
Here we go again. Yet another christian has decided to pervert the concept of Lost in Space by duct taping it to christianity.
To Alex, I apologize. Your web page is, in comparison, a bastion of intelligence and subtlety.
Oh, isn't that lovely. The guy is using the Lost in Space robot, an icon of science fiction, to promote the anti science messages of creationism and christianity.
The premise of the robot's anti science rant is as follows: just like a robot cannot arise from nature, but rather needs a designer, so too life needs a designer, therefore goddidit. Sigh. Warming up the old, dead "a watch needs a watchmaker" argument does not make it any more valid than when it was refuted about, oh, a couple of centuries ago.
Frankly, what this person is doing is disgusting. It is about on the level of taking the Lost in Space robot and using it as a prop in a photo shoot for Hustler. I admit I do not have much sympathy for license holders and their greedhead attitudes-- but at the same time I can see their point in this instance. Let's hope the license holders for Lost in Space put him out of business immediately. Gadzooks-- greedheads might actually do something good for a change, in spite of themselves. These are strange times we live in.
Baby Jesus burning Party! Join in on the new fad that's sweeping the nation! At last, kids having good clean fun, and doing good for their community!
I am getting a bit tired of the same old arguments being trotted out as proof of god. Here is another web page that has a good summing up of some major christian rhetorical blunders. Read it!
The Darke Side of Faith A great page to show to the "religion is good for you!" crowd.
Proof of god! Just disconnect your brain! Another in a long, dreary line of people who throw numbers around and come up with proof of god.
All the arguments for god! Sarcasm so subtle I can imagine some christians taking it seriously.
The god FAQ All of the relevant questions about god, and the answers!
Correlations Just what you always suspected: christians really are less intelligent than Atheists.
Welcome to Enlightenment! An excellent jesus debunking source.
god Detectors! Want proof of god? Get your god detector here!
To Justin, Against christianity A wonderfully sincere page, stating why christianity is not a belief system to follow.
Webspawner Atheism Links Just what it says: Atheism related pages on Webspawner.
A Pearl Before the Swine An Atheist falls in love with a religious fundamentalist.
Atheist Fools. For a long time I couldn't decide whether this was an elaborate parody, or if the guy really believed the garbage he was spouting. I've talked with christians about this page, and it has them scratching their heads too. I am inclined toward thinking it's a parody. This is the arhived version of the site. It has now left the web.
Creationism: Bad Science or Immoral Pseudoscience? An expose of creationist Dr. Duane Gish.
Evolution: Converging Lines of Evidence "As mentioned in the subject refresher article on evolution, Evolution v. Creation, the strength of a theory comes not from a single measurement or a single confirmed prediction, but from the theory's many predictions being confirmed by many independent tests, samples, and methods."
Debunking creationism with creationism "This web site debunks popular creationist arguments for recent creation by linking to creationist articles that contradict or retract the argument."
Atheist Meetup Meet fellow Atheists!
The Beast A movie, to be released in 2006, that states what no other movie has dared to: that jesus never existed.
The God Who Wasn't There. A documentary that provides proof that jesus never existed. made by the same filmmaker who made "The Beast (see above).
Zombie Christ A movie that asks: what if jesus rose from the dead and became a flesh eating zombie? What the heck: jesus never existed in the first place, so this bit of fun is as plausible as the biblical account.
Landover Baptist A great pardsoy of christian fundamentalism. I suspect fundies won't get the joke.
Evil Atheist Conspiracy Another pardody website.
Capella's Guide to Atheism A nice set of Atheism links.
Assassinations Foretold in Moby Dick Complete, total, absolute and final refutation of "The Bible Code."
Ex-Atheist Either this guy is a slippery, lying weasel who is encouraging christians to use deceptive arguments in dealing with skeptics, or it is a dead-on parody of such thinking. Either way, Atheists will bust a gut reading this page.
One thing about christian humor vs. Atheist humor: Atheists actually have a sense of humor.
Ryan's Atheist Page A sincere, plain-spoken page by an Atheist, explaining his philosophy.
