ALEXANDER WALKER & JANE HAMMER


DAUGHTERS OF AMERICAN REVOLUTION VOL #96 shows that Alexander Walker served in the American Revolution War.


Alexander Walker; son of emigrant John Walker; born May 19, 1716 married Jane Hammer on January 08, 1747. He died in Rockbridge County, Virginia in 1784 or 1785. His wife died in Woodford County, Kentucky in 1798. He was present at the ordination of Rev. Samuel Cummings, April 17, 1766. He served in the Colonial War. (see Virginia Historical Magazine,

Their eleven children were:

William Walker born August 08, 1749 married Jane Walker
James Walker born June 29, 1751 married Margaret Gray
Ann Walker born March 22, 1754 married her cousin James Walker
Alexander Walker born October 28, 1756 and died August 18, 1764
Joseph Walker born July 16, 1760 and died September 02, 1763
David Walker born March 07, 1763 and married Jane Holmes
Alexander Walker (the second) born July 12,1765 married Mary Magdelene Harmon
(4). Jane Walker born January 06, 1768 and married Andrew McMahan
Joseph Walker (the second) born March 14, 1771 or 1773, married Katherine Kelso
Catherine Walker born February 04, 1775 married Samuel Taylor
