ALBION MUSIC REPRINTS
DANCE MUSIC CATALOGUE
Albion Music presents an extensive series of Victorian and Edwardian dance music items for piano solo and duet. Many are based on the operas of Gilbert and Sullivan. These long-out-of-print titles are now available for purchase for the first time in decades.
During the nineteenth century theatrical works were often used as the basis for tuneful dance arrangements, chiefly available in the form of piano reductions. The renaissance of British comic opera supplied an endless stream of attractive melodies fit for transfer to the ballroom.
Lancers, Quadrilles, Waltzes, Polkas and Galops from the heyday of formal dancing - play your favourite melodies in unfamiliar arrangements or discover the attractions of long-forgotten stage works. Arrangers include Charles d'Albert (1809-1886), Charles Godfrey (1839-1919), Procida Bucalossi (1832-1918), Warwick Williams (1846-c.1904) and Carl Kiefert (1855-1937).
All items are available as piano solo, and some are also available as piano duet (four hands). All items are musically complete and include black and white reproductions of the original lithograph covers.
