Welcome to the Alberta Shire Horse information page. The Shire breeders in Alberta have joined the Clydesdale breeders to form a combined club called the Alberta Clydesdale and Shire Association. The main objective is to stimulate and promote interest in Shires & Clydesdales, in Alberta and surrounding areas. Participation will be encouraged in all shows, clinics, demonstrations, and agricultural exhibitions involving heavy horses, and in particular those involving Shires & Clydesdales.

2009 HEAVY HORSE EVENTS SCHEDULED IN ALBERTA
Feb. 7 - Saturday - 10:00am - Annual Meeting of the Wild Rose Draft Horse Association, followed by the Annual Meeting of the Alberta Clydesdale & Shire Association at 1:30pm, Westerner Park, Red Deer
May 2 - Saturday - 8:00am - Heavy Horse Sale, sponsored by the Wild Rose Draft Horse Association, at the Calouri Pavillion, Olds, sale preview on May 1.

June 13 & 14 - WRDHA Field Day at Double Tree Village, Spruce View
July 3 - 6 - The National Shire Show of Canada will be held in conjunction with the Calgary Stampede Heavy Horse Show. The Annual Meeting of the Canadian Shire Horse Association will be held at Stampede Park, in Calgary, during the National Shire Show.
