Strong, Willing, And Trusting
Strong, Willing, And Trusting, known as SWAT, is a community service group dedicated to donating its time to the community and to Bloomsburg University. The SWAT group is guided by their slogan "Staying true, Working hard, And Taking initiative in our community." The primary purpose of SWAT is to create a healthy atmosphere in which lasting friendships evolve into ambitious actions directed towards the community. SWAT is dedicated to making the lives of its members meaningful to the greatest degree by providing opportunities to broaden the horizons of their futures. By opening a huge window of possibilities, and by allowing the light of triumph and glory to seep through the panes, our members are given the chance to find themselves on a more social level and head down the path of life that leads towards satisfaction. Members will be given the chance to support the community and make their college experiences as fulfilling as possible. SWAT members practice necessary characteristics of a healthy life such as integrity, personal responsibility, and the utmost honesty. Contentment is accomplished through community service events that provide intellectual motivation, the opportunity for graciousness in everyday life, and community awareness which will enrich their lives, as members of SWAT, and instill in them a respect for the enduring values to be gained from the club. SWAT strives to form bonding relationships between its members and the community. The club works hard to represent Bloomsburg, the only town in Pennsylvania. They would like to put a face to the community; a group of strong, willing, and trusting individuals who take initiative to take the community to a new level; to improve the community so that its residents are proud of their living environment; to instill faith in those who have lost it and to those who have forgotten to appreciate the good in life; to emphasize the importance of care, trust, honesty, and willingness among the population.
