For 14 years I had my own Knitwear factory employing 31 woman and men supplying 13 shops and one retail shop of my own. During this time I was also created designs and wrote patterns for construction of garments for New Zealand Woman and Stitch magazine. After 2 years designing for this magazine I went on to win the prestigious Fashion Award in Knitwear Designing with The Benson and Hedges Fashion Award.

At the age of about 18 months I was given wooden butchers squewers and very small balls of different coloured wool and I learnt to knit. The back verandah was my first studio where I spent many hours learning my craft. After dropping many stitches and making just as many holes, things started to come together and at the age of seven I knitted my first cardigan in emerald green butterfly stitch. From then on knitting just grew and grew, (if you will excuse the pun!) My first shop proved to be very well accepted so I opened a small factory to cater to my clients throughout New Zealand still keeping my own shop going.

My love of knitting still exists and I always have at least three things on the go..... Now with the aid of computers I am still designing patterns and helping people all over the world with their problems.
