THE CARRIAGE ROADS OF ACADIA NATIONAL PARK
![]()
Ejoy this video I shot of the carriage roads in Acadia National Park. There are over 27 miles of trails just like this, where you can ride a bike, jog, walk, or ride a horse. Horses can be rented at Wildwood stables inside the national park. As you can see from just the short video I shot, you will definately want to take along a camera or two. The surface of these carriage roads are hard and smooth and you can really pick up some speed, so ride with care unless you want to end up taking a free trip on a lifeflight helicopter. As the video shows, you will come to sign posts at every intersection that will direct you where each section leads and how long each section is. And as you ride, you will pass over and under stone bridges, pass by ponds and lakes, as well as pass through woods and valleys. Feel free to download a copy of the video as well.

HOW TO ACCESS THE NATIONAL PARKS FOR FREE
That's right, for free - but how can that be? Easy. Are you disabled, or do you have a family member who is disabled? How about a good friend? My article on HOW TO ACCESS THE NATIONAL PARKS FOR FREE will show you how to sign up for a special park pass that will enable you and everyone else in your car to enter the national parks for free, even if the person with the special card is not driving. You read that right, the National Park service has provided this service for the disabled, so read my article and get your card today. Then start enjoying the national parks.
But wait, there is more. Not only do you and everyone else in the car get access into the national parks for free, but by having the card holder reserve your campsite in the national parks, you get the camp or RV site at half price, that's right, half price. That means you can, if you chose to, camp for twice as long for or you can use your savings for shopping. HOW TO CAMP IN ACADIA NATIONAL PARK WITHOUT A RESERVATION
That is not a misprint. You can stay inside of acadia National Park without a reservation, and I will show you how to do it. This article I wrote is on Seawall Campground, just beyond southwest Harbor, on the quiet side of the island. You are just a short walk to a nearby camp store, and Seawall Picnic area is right across the road from the Seawall campground. And you are about a twenty minute walk away from the national park Wonderland and Ship Harbor Nature Trails. The article below will give you full details.

A DAY IN ACADIA NATIONAL PARK
This is another video I shot this past year in Acadia National Park, as me and my wife and kids hiked from Blackwoods Campground in Otter Creek to the one way section of the park loop road. We followed the Otter Cliff trail for much of the way, taking a break at Thunder Hole before continueing on to the fee station. Sorry, but it was low tide and the footage was not that great of Thunder Hole. But overall, I think you will enjoy the free video, and feel free to download a copy of it if you want to.
