There are a lot of musea in the Netherlands. The most famous is the
Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. There you can see famous art from Rembrandt, such as the
Nachtwacht.
In Rotterdam you have the museum Boymans van Beuningen with also old masters.
In the Middle of the Netherlands you can visit the Kroller-Muller Museum. This museum has a big collection of paintings of Van Gogh.
There nearby you can also find a Open Air Museum with old buildings, old mills, old farms. There they make things as in the old days.

1. The Rijksmuseum te Amsterdam
The most famous museum from the Netherlands. In this museum you find a great collection
of the paintings of Rembrandt. The most beautiful is the Nachtwacht.
Till the 14 of march 1999 there was a special exposition of one of the famoust 17-century
sculptors:"Adriaen de Vries,1556-1626, imperial sculptor". There is also a
English catalogue about this exposition.
The museum is open from 10 till 17 h. This exposition will be also in the Paul Getty
museum in Los Angelos. From 12 oktober 1999 till 9 januar 2000.
2. The Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam
Van Gogh was one of the most important impressionisten. He lived a part of his live in
France. One of his specials paintings is the Potatoes-eaters.
3. Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam
This museum has a beautiful collection of old masters,drawings but also of sculpture.

4. Gemeentemuseum te The Hague
This museum is known for paintings of Mondriaan.
5. Mauritshuis te The Hague
This museum has also a lot of old masters.

6. The Kroller-Muller museum te Otterlo
A very nice lokated museum in a Nature Park in the middle of the Netherlands.
With a lot of paintings of Van Gogh.
7. Het Rembrandthuis te Amsterdam
Till the 14 februar 1999 there was a special exposition of drawings of Rembrandt from the
Bible with music from a old componist Willem Mengelberg. He wrote "the Radierungen
van Rembrandt".
