SPEAKER REPAIR AND RESTORATION:

We can help you get you vintage speakers up and running again. Original replacement speakers are available for most AR, Advent, and Ohm models, as well as quality parts for upgrading or repairing the crossovers and level controls. If original parts are no longer available for your speaker, we can find you the closest available replacement. We also provide complete conversions, fitting your existing cabinets with new high quality drivers and crossovers.

***AR Parts Specials****

Poly cone/rubber surround AR 8" woofers from the recent "Holographic Imaging" series. Optimized for sealed boxes, so they make perfect drop-in replacements for most AR models, as well as for Genesis, KLH, and any speaker requiring a high quality 8" acoustic suspension woofer.[6 ohm] Super deal at $38 each [reg. $55.50]. These are almost sold out...so don't wait too long...

Original AR 2a woofers: 3 available, these have the older "pot" style ALNICO magnets. All have just been refoamed and are in good working order. $40 each or $70 per pair.

SPEAKER REFOAMING:

Replacing rotted foam surrounds is often a cost effective option to replacing an entire speaker. Just because the foam edge has gone doesn't mean that the speaker is "blown". The foam fails due to age, not excessive power or use. 10-15 years is the typical life of old type foam surrounds.

We can refoam most drivers from 4.5" to 15" for only $35-$50 per pair [what most shops charge per speaker]. We also have custom fit surrounds for odd size speakers like the 9" Advent, 11" AR and 14" JBL woofers. All our surrounds are made of a new high quality rot resistant foam which should last twice as long as the originals. Cloth surrounds are also available for PA type speakers. We provide a five year warranty on our repairs.

Refoaming/Rebuilding for passive radiators is also available, call for details on your specific model.

RECONE SERVICES:

We offer reconing for most brands, including home, car, and pro audio speakers. Prices vary quite a bit between brands and types, and it can get expensive. For many "consumer" grade speakers, it is often just as cheap to replace the blown driver as to have it rebuilt. On the other hand, for pro audio speakers [like JBL, EV] and some "premium" brands, the recone charge is often half the cost of replacement. Call or email for options on your particular model.

INFINITY super deals: 4" and 5.25" shielded mid-bass drivers from two of their center channel speakers. The 4" has a poly cone and huge magnet. The 5.25" has a treated paper cone and large magnet. Both are 8 ohm, high efficiency, and have the smooth midrange response Infinity speakers are famous for. These are great for center channel speakers, multimedia monitors, anywhere a high quality 4/5" driver is required. They would also make an outstanding mid for large 3-way systems. Price is only $18/ea [4"] and $20/ea [5.25"]

12" DVC heavy duty subwoofer, high quality OEM model, thick felted paper cone, rubber surround, large vented magnet structure, very low [21Hz] Fs and big 7.5mm xmax, 8 ohm per coil, solid performance in small vented boxes, amazing in a 2-3 cuft bandpass [box designs available], regularly $100+ each, now only $70 each. Best sub deal to come along in years.

Quamm 10" woofers: just refoamed, this is a set of classic acoustic suspension woofers. They have white cones with black dust caps and surrounds, the frames and magnets are coated in a heavy epoxy, great replacement for any sealed speaker needing a high efficiency 10" woofer, $55/pair [one set only]

1.5" Dome mid-tweeter. Originally used in a studio monitor, its perfect for a 2 or 3-way system. This driver can cover the range from 1.5Khz all the way up to 18Khz. The dome is a soft treated fabric, and the magnet weight is 12oz [as big as many 6.5's]. Mounting plate is rectangular, approx. 4.5"H x 6"W, requires a 3.5" cutout. Regularly $75, now only $40 each.

Bose 3.5" 4 ohm "twidler". A what??? Well..thats what Bose calls their wide range mid-tweeters. This is the big brother to the 2.5" version used in their famous "cube" speakers. They can cover the range from 200Hz up to about 18kHz. Run two of them in series to make your own "dual cubes" speakers perfect for mating with a good sub. Can be used as a midrange in 3-way systems as well. They can also fit many automotive applications, and are currently used in the Premium sound systems found in the new BMW's and other luxury cars. These "little" 3.5" speakers have a strong, clean output, and magnets you'd normally find on 6.5's. They will take about 30 watts run full range, or 50+ watts if crossed over as a midrange. The mfr. sells the 2.5" version of this driver for $68 each. While they last, the 3.5's are only $50 per pair, or $95 for a set of four.

Focal TC90TD 1" inverted dome tweeters: This is a sweet little tweeter used in several top audiophile speakers, they sound nothing like other metal domes you have heard. An inverted TI dome is coated with a layer of titanium dioxide for damping, it also has a soft coated foam suspension to further eliminate resonances. The sound is very smooth, detailed, and open. $80/pair

1.5mh transformer core inductor: These are wound from 18ga wire on a large well made core, DCR is about .15ohm, they are take-outs from unused crossover boards, At $3.50 each,
that's half the price of similar quality cored inductors.

Poly cap specials: Solen 1uf 100vac, $1.50/ea; Rel-Cap, 4uf and 6uf 200vac, $2.50/ea; GE 10uf 250vac, $3.50/ea; Aerovox 15uf 250vac, $4.00/ea; 52uf $10/ea [both are large case, very high quality]
