George Henry Beeman
George Henry Beeman was born January 7, 1796 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, and died January 14, 1875 in Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland. He is the son of Moses and Sarah (Poling)(Layport)Beeman. He married Barbara Ann Loar June 20, 1820 in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland, daughter of Jacob Loar and Sarah Echkart. She was born November 20, 1799 in Eckhart Mines, Allegany County, Maryland, and died January 01, 1877 in Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland. George and Barbara are both buried on the Beeman Farm. George was a farmer. He had seven sons who fought for the Union. All seven sons survived the war. Jacob returned to farm and George, Moses,Thomas, and William to mine coal. Tragically, Thomas lost his leg in the coal mine, but in another mining accident, brother William lost his life.
George Beeman, Sr. and Barbara Ann Loar had eleven children;

Sarah Beeman, born February 04, 1821; died 1909 in Allegany County, Maryland.

Rebecca Beeman, born May 28, 1822.

Mary Beeman, Born January 29, 1824; died 1834 in Allegany County, Maryland.

Jacob August Beeman, was born January 07, 1828 on the Koontz Farm near the town of Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland. He fought for the Union during the Civil War along with six of his brothers. He was 6' 2 inches tall and weighed 220 pounds. He was a farmer by occupation, and a Dunkard by religion. He married Rachel J. Dye December 30, 1857 in Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland; born May 07, 1837 in Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland; and died December 16, 1899 in Allegany County, Maryland. She is the daughter of James and Mary Jane (Miller) Dye. Jacob , died March 23, 1910, both are buried in the Robeson Cemetery, Pea Ridge, Garrett County, Maryland.

Catherine Beeman, born July 20, 1829; died February 04, 1891.

Harriet Beeman, born April 09, 1831 in Allegany County, Maryland; died 1834.

George Beeman, born February 10, 1833 in Allegany County, Maryland.

Salem Beeman, born March 31, 1835.

Lennox Martin Beeman, born March 02, 1837.

CHARLES HENRY BEEMAN
Charles Henry Beeman was born on the Koontz Farm January 10, 1839 near Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland, and died November 24, 1914 in Charlestown, Allegany County, Maryland. He married Charlotte Dye May 30, 1863 in Lonaconing, Allegany Co., Maryland, daughter of James Dye and Mary Jane Miller. She was born August 18, 1842 in Lonaconing, Allegany Co., Maryland, and died December 28, 1924 in Lonaconing, Allegany Co., Maryland. Both buried in the Dye Family Cemetery, near Lonaconing,Maryland, on the East side of Dan's Mountain situated on part of a tract of land called " Ethiopia and the Isles." Also known as Military Lot No. 3802. This military lot was patented to William Dye December 15, 1806, and was than sold to Samuel Miller February 1839, by William and Rachel Dye, his wife.
Charles Henry Beeman was the son of George Beeman, Sr. and Barbara Ann Loar. He came from a rather large family being one of fifteen children. He served in the Civil War and fought with the Union in the 5th Maryland Infantry, Company D. Six of his brothers fought for the Union during the war as well and all survived. Charles came home wounded from the Civil War but recovered and returned moving on with his natural life with raising a family and working in the coal mines. Charles was Methodist and practiced his religion in the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing, Allegany Co., Maryland. Charles and Charlotte Beeman had ten children Charles J. Beeman, who married Marion Nicol. Mary Jane Beeman who married John Thomas "Tom" Donald. Emma S. Beeman, who married Archibald Brown, Sr. Albert Beeman who married, Addie Myrtle Metz. William Harrison Beeman who married , Malvina Catherine Salisbury. Robert Lindley Beeman , Amanda Ellen Beeman who married John Dye. Henry Beeman . George Edward Beeman who married Anna Lucretia Llewellyn and Christina K. Beeman who married Charles Henry Shockey.

Charles Henry Beeman's Will was recorded December 04, 1914, in the Register of Wills Libber 20 Folio 484 in the Allegany County, Maryland Courthouse.

WILL OF CHARLES HENRY BEEMAN
In the name of God, Amen, I, Charles H. Beeman of Charlestown, Allegany County in the State of Maryland, being Sound body, and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding; and considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs, and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world, when it shall please God to call me hence; do therefore make and publish this, my last will and testament; in manner and form following, that is to say; First and principally , I commit my soul into the hands of the Almighty God, and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor, hereinafter named. After my debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath, as follows: I Give, Devise and Bequeath unto My Wife Sharlott Beeman all my Real estate and personly property as long as She Remane My Widow and to hold as long as She lives and if She Should Marry then it is to be Sold and Divided amongst my ares and if She Should die then Charles J. Beeman is for to become the administrator by filling a Bond to the amount of the Personal Property and Realestate and to sell and divide it after taking his 10 Per Cent on Realestate and 7 Per Cent on Personly Property. And Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Charlotte Beeman to be sole executor of this my last will and testament Revoking and annulling all former Wills by me, herefore made, ratifying and confirming this, and none other, to be my last will and testament. Jacob Loar
Jacob Loar was born 1747 in Germany. He came to America 1774, on a ship called "Union" from Rotterdam, Holland. He took Oath of Allegiance on September 30, 1774. Jacob was alloted as a settler, he owned Military Lot # 3682 which was 50 Acres of land and it was located 10 miles West of Fort Cumberland, Maryland. This area was later named Loartown. When Jacob was 40 years old he married Sarah Eckhart on January 17, 1787. She was the daughter of George Adam Eckhart and Anna Maria Wittmeyer. Sarah was born Abt. 1766 in Germany perhaps. Sarah died in Eckhart Mines, Allegany County, Maryland Aft. 1827, at the age of 61 years old. Jacob died Abt. 1827 at the age of 80 years old. Jacob and Sarah Loar had eleven children; Elizabeth "Betsey", wife of John Funk; John, who married Hester Stephens; George, who married Margaret Rinehart; Sarah, married William Humberson; Catherine "Katie" , married John Layport; Barbara, married George Henry Beeman; Mary Ann "Polly", married George Staup; Margaret Rebecca, she married Jared Dawson; Susanna, married Jesse Wesley Chaney; Jacob, married Mary Ann Winter; and Henry Loar, married Catherine "Katie" Winter.

Jacob Loar farmer and stock-grower, was born in Allegany County, Maryland, February 6, 1817. His parents were John and Hester (Stephens) Loar, natives of New Jersey, and of German lineage. His father, who was born in 1794, was a farmer by occupation. He came to Whiteley Township, Greene County, in 1820, and died in 1873 at the advanced age of eighty - four years. His family consisted of fourteen children, eleven of who grew to maturity. Three of his sons were physicians and two ministers. Jacob, the second in the family, settled in Richhill Township , in 1837, and has been very successful in business. He owns the valuable farm of two hundred and twenty acres where he now resides. Mr. Loar is prominent and influential in his community, has been a member of the school board and served as the justice of peace for a period of fifteen years. He has been three times married ---first, in 1836, to Maria Nelson, and they were the parents of nine children, six of whom are now living, viz., John M., a farmer; Nelson, a physician in Bloomington, Illinois; George, a physician in Monroe, Iowa; Margaret Ann, wife of A. K. Allum; Hester Jane, wife of E. J. Gribben and Anna, wife of Oliver Burns. The deceased are James Apoloe, Jacob H. and Catharine who was the wife of B. F. Temple. Mrs Loar died in 1864. Mr. Loar's second wife was Sarah Williams widow of Morrison Applegate, who died February 11, 1875. They had one son--William C., a medical student in Indianapolis, Ind., and one daughter, Ora who died April 1888. Mr. Loar was again married in 1881, to Mary Dinsmore, widow of Benjamin Durbin. She was the mother of six children; viz., Mary, Harvey, Elizabeth, Thomas, William and Bothenia. Mr. Loar is a member of the Methodist Protestant Church, of which he has been steward and trustee. His wife is a Presbyterian.
