THOMAS HORNE of Pennsylvania
THOMAS HORNE (or HORN) was born circa 1774 and married Priscilla SHACKLETTE. She was born circa 1776 and was the daughter of John SHACKLETTE and Barbara QUICK. Thomas and Priscilla Shacklette HORNE were in Fayette County, Pennsylvania and left there probably in the year 1797 and migrated to Kentucky. A daughter Sarah HORNE had been born while still in Pennsylvania, but my great great grandfather, Blancette Shacklette HORNE and other siblings were born in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The family then moved to Meade County, Kentucky, and later into Hardin County, Kentucky, but Thomas HORNE seems to have disappeared from the family as I could find no trace of him in Meade County. If anyone has any information on Thomas HORNE, especially his ancestry and where he came from, an email from you would be welcome.
Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of Thomas HORNE, but the two photos above depict four generations of the Horn family. In the photo on the left is Thomas HORNE's grandson William Thomas Horn (called Tom), with the long white beard. William Thomas Horn was the son of Blancette Shacklette Horne. Next to him is his son (my grandfather) Samuel Blancet Horn; Samuel's son Willett Horn (my father); and Willett's son Clifford Wilson Horn (called Bubby). This photo was made in 1912. In the photo on the right, made in 1935, is my grandfather, Samuel Blancet Horn, with his son Willett Horn; Willett's son Clifford Wilson Horn; and Clifford's son, Clifford Anthony Horn (called Tony). These photos were taken near Elizabethtown, Kentucky in Hardin County.
