One of the richest and most successful men in the history of the world made this profound statement. He probably didn't know it then, but he was endorsing Relationship or Network Marketing as his philosophy in business.
Let me put it another way. If I was to offer you a 28 week contract to sell ice-cream at £1000 per week you would probably say "Yes please". This of course would give you £28,000 for 28 weeks work.
Alternatively, if, for the same work, I gave you £1 for the first week, then doubled it every week for the 28 week period, i.e. £1 for the 1st week, £2 for the 2nd week, £4 for the 3rd week etc, which one would you choose?
95% of the population would choose the first option without hesitation because they would know exactly where they stand and they would remain within their comfort zone. However, 5% including I suspect, Mr Getty, would choose the second option, which would pay you a staggering £268million + for the 28 week contract.
