"I am excited to see in the future the proposed "Wetland Corridors" a project of Dr. Wei Ta Fang which will adjoin wetlands of neighboring cities in Taiwan and will be another wonderful ecological tourism spot for the country. I am grateful for the support of Miss Chen Chu, the honorable Mayor of Kaohsiung City and all the rest. I am also happy to have with us as Workshop Chair, Dr. Sam S. S. Lau, who contributed much in the making of the top scenic wetland spot in Hong kong: the Mai Po Marshes/Nature Reserve. I am also glad to read Dr. Woei -horng Fang's book on "A Guide to Threatened Birds of Taiwan." Dr. Wei Ta Fang also wrote a Chinese version of a book on Taiwanese Wetlands. Such great concerns by these great fellows in the conservation of nature." - Prof. Isidro T. Savillo, Regional Pres., SWS Asia Chapter
