Acid Drop
The acid drop is one of the most basic old school tricks. All it is, is taking the board, holding it in your hand, lifting both feet into the air, putting your feet on the board, and letting go with your hand. Then you drop until you hit the ground. You should get really good at this because most old school tricks will use an acid drop.

Boneless
The boneless is a cool trick that I find pretty easy, but a lot of people
say its pretty hard. Here's how you do it.
1)Put your back foot so it's covering the front two back bolts.
2)Bend down and grab the middle of your board with either hand.
3)Take your front foot off the board and jump with it.
4)Hold on to the board with your hand as you go up.
5)Get your back foot on the top of the board.
6)Float down like an acid drop and let go with your hand whenever you feel
comfortable.
This is fun to do down stairs and stuff.

180 Boneless
Do like a boneless, but turn 180 degrees. You can turn 360 or even 540 if your really good.

Basic Concept To A Lot Of Tricks
Basically you do a boneless and add flips (like a kickflip) shuvits or spins. The other way, to do it, is to jump off the board, pop it into your hand with your back foot, and then do whatever you want with the board and jump back on it and land like an acid drop. You can basically do any modern tricks, you just don't have to ollie. A lot of the stuff you can do is really hard. Just experiment and practice.

Hand Stand
First of all, you have to be able to do hand stands really well. If you can't, DO NOT start off practicing on your skateboard. Find some level ground. Anyways, a lot of people do it by taking both feet off the board, running, and then throwing their feet up into the air. That way, they will be rolling while doing a handstand. I start off on the board though. You have to have really strong forearms for this. You place both feet on the
board, place your hands on the tail and the nose, and then fold yourself in half. Then raise your legs until they are both in the air. As I said, you have to be really strong to do it this way. You can build up by doing some butterfly exersizes with free weights. Now, I personally don't recommend trying this unless you are VERY comfortable standing on your
hands while riding, but, you can also do shuvits, kickflips, and ollies.

Kickflip
An old school kickflip can be done two ways. First and easiest, jump off the board and flip the board with either your hand or foot and then jump back on.
Second, Stay on the board, put your back foot under the board in about the middle, bring both feet up into the air by jumping, and flip it with your back foot, then when it's flipped, land back on it. In this version, your feet never touch the ground.

Manual
This is just a wheelie, which means riding on two wheels. You just lean back or forward depending on if you want to do a manual, or a nose manual. Be sure your tail dosn't touch the ground, if it does, that's called tail drag, which some people consider an old school trick. I personally don't. I call it stopping. But don't do that too much because it will cause your
board to chip much sooner.

180
An old school 180 is just turning 180 degrees without your board coming off the ground. You just turn on your back truck.

GI Joe
This is kind of like walking like those army men with the plastic on the bottom of their feet. Put one foot on the very back and one on the very front. Then raise one truck and set it down further forward and do the same thing with the other truck until your done.

Power Slides
This is spinning 180 degrees without any of your wheels leaving the ground. It's hard to do on older wheels, but not too hard with new wheels. Just turn one way to wind up, and then unwind. You should have heard a loud screech from your wheels and turned 180.

Swirls
Get up some speed and get into GI Joe position. Then keep doing 180's until you fall. My record is 9 180's, it's pretty hard to do. It's fun though. Just practice.

Curbie
This is how people got up curbs before they learned how to ollie. You go at an object, do a manual, let your front trucks get over the curb and then bring your back trucks up so that your whole board is on the curb. This is good for really lazy people who don't want to learn to ollie.

Varial
An old school varial is just turning your body 180 degrees while your board keeps going straight. It's harder than it sounds when your going fast.

GON FLIP
A Gon flip, created by Casey Gon, is sort of a frontflip of the skateboard. What you do is pop a pretty fair size ollie then when you're in the air push your front foot down and forward and your back foot as high as you can in the air to avoid the tail hitting your foot. Let it flip, get your feet back into position and land it.

GON SLIDE
The Gon slide, also created by Casey Gon, is really just a noseslide with half of your nose on the object but on purpose and with style. To do this trick you must be confident with a good amount of speed and can noseslide. Approach the object like a regular noseslide but don't turn as much when you pop your board, slide as long as you can and easily land it.

GRUNT GRIND
Trick created by Mark Kistner where it is sort of a mix of a bluntslide and an inside 5-0. What you do is approach a rail which makes it easier to do and think of a bluntslide but dont turn the whole 90 degrees and ollie more straight up. Once you get on it your locked on but getting off of it is the challenge.

HARDFLIP
If you attempt this trick your ollie should be solid and really high. Don't try it otherwise.
- Place your front foot, heel next to the first set of bolts on the back part of the board. Make sure you place it toes facing the nose as it's a more forward stance than normal.
- Place your back foot at the very tip for the tail for maximum pop.
- Now pop yourself as high as you can and slide your front foot as if you were doing a kickflip but don't flick it as hard. The point is to get the board to flip end over end and rotate half way around.
- When you jump try to touch your knees to your shoulders and lean forward a little.
- Don't land before it flips around, that could spell disaster.
- Stomp it is as you land so it doesn't slip out.

Heavy Sack load with the 180 lay down! - Submitted by Jordan Reed
"ok ride along as fast as you would like then pop your board up and catch its nose the move it up on your shoulder then bring it down and jump and spin 180 land on your board! and ride away like a stud!"

HEELFLIP
The heelflip is like a kickflip in the opposite direction. Set your feet like you're going to do an ollie (back foot over the tail, front foot over the middle of the board) but place your front foot so that all of your toes hang off the board. Now ollie and drag your front foot forward while simultaneously kicking in the direction of your toes. As always, try to stay above the board. Land it. Roll away.

IMPOSSIBLE FASTPLANT
Put both feet on the bolts. Now with both hands, grab the nose, do a fastplant, now with both hands pull the board so it will go around your foot, just like an impossible. After the rotation around your foot, jump on like a regular fast plant and roll away.

KICKFLIP
Set up your feet in the ollie position. Your front foot, though, should be adjusted back towards the heel edge a bit and your toes (or rather the front of your shoe) should be just behind the centermost mounting bolts of the front truck. Do an ollie, but rather than only sliding your front foot upward and forward, you must also slide your foot (again, probably your shoe) to the heel side enough to start your board in a spin. This action requires you to actually kick your front foot off of your board; the last point of contact between the front of your shoe and the board should be in that little concaved dip just before the nose. The spinning board then hovers for a second between your sprawling legs. When you see the grip again, stop the rotation with your back foot, then put that front foot back on, right on top of them bolts, and land.

KICKFLIP (OLD SCHOOL)
An old school kickflip can be done two ways. First and easiest, jump off the board and flip the board with either your hand or foot and then jump back on. Second, Stay on the board, put your back foot under the board in about the middle, bring both feet up into the air by jumping, and flip it with your back foot, then when it's flipped, land back on it. In this version, your feet never touch the ground.

360 FLIP . 3 FLIP . TREY FLIP
The 360 flipcombines two tricks, the kickflip and the 360 shove-it. Even if you can't do a 360 pop shuvit, don't fret. You should, however be familiar with the plain ol' backside pop shuvit. To do a 360 flip, you should position your front foot like you would for a kickflip, with your foot slid back toward the heel-edge of the board and also further back lengthwise. Your rear foot should be positioned with your toe on the toe-edge of the tail. Rolling at a moderate to slow speed for learning, sweep your back foot behind you, pushing down just enough to get the tail to smack against the ground as you sweep. This will rotate the board around 360 shuvit style. Within the same motion as the sweep, make your front foot do a kickflip. The whole thing should take about the same amount of time a kickflip does, so you won't have to "hang" in the air any longer. When the nose comes back around and the griptape side shows upward, stick your feet back on and land it.

KICKFLIP BACKSIDE GRAB
For this trick you got to have yours kickflips down with a good catch and ollie backside grabs. Approach the Kicker with a good amount of speed in the kickflip position. Kickflip as high as you can and grab the board backside staying above the board. Don't lean to far back. Place the board back on your feet like an ollie backside grab and land with your knees compressed.

KICKFLIP BACKSIDE TAILSLIDE
Can you guess what two tricks you should learn before trying this? Yup, kickflips and backside tailslides. Approach the obstacle just like you were going to do a backside tailslide. Your front foot should be in the same position as for a b/s tailslide, only a little more towards your heel edge so you can get a nice flip. Snap your ollie and do a kickflip while turning your hips backside. In the same motion that you catch the flip with your back foot, you should be planting that back foot over the edge of the obstacle. Once you're on there, keep your hips 90 degrees to the object and your torso parallel with it. Slide as long as possible and drop off as you shift your hips back to forward. Now do it again.

KICKFLIP FRONTSIDE BOARDSLIDE
Basically you have to have your kickflips down and frontside boardslides with your eyes closed. Approach the 5-0 grindrail at a comfortable speed but not to slow. Kickflip land in the frontside boardslide position and stay above your board. (Sometimes you've got to land in whatever position the board goes in order to learn this trick.) Slide and adjust your weight coming off forward with your shoulders when you land.

KICKFLIP NOSE-WHEELIE . KICKFLIP NOSE MANUAL
This trick is sure to impress folks no matter where you go, but in order to pull it off you'd better have a decent and consistent kickflip, since that is only the beginning of the trick. Roll up to the curb or obstacle just as if you were going to kickflip up it. When you flip your flip, let your front foot just hang there above the nose as your board flips around. When you see the grip tape again, stop the spin with your back foot, then get your front foot on that nose and bring it down before the back wheels touch. Now that you're in the nose manual position, just ride it on out. And remember, you didn't really land it if your back wheels hit the obstacle when you came off, so try it again.

KICKTURN (180 OLD SCHOOL)
An old school 180 is just turning 180 degrees without your board coming off the ground, but it can be done through any number of degrees. You just lift your front wheels of the ground and rotate on the back truck. No sweat.

But don't do that too much because it will cause your board to chip much sooner.

MCDONALD (OLDSCHOOL) - Aaron Lee
When you first start this, you should be going at a pretty slow speed. Now pop the nose up and grab the outer side of the nose. Now bring the board under your legs and grab the middle of the board as you plant your front foot on the ground, now plant and jump back on the board with your back foot. To make it even prettier, flip the board with the hand you grabbed with, and flip it downward and grab it with the other hand, then replant the board.

MULTIPLE 360s
When doing 360s, you want to wind up, start spinning, and keep your center of gravity over the rear wheels. The important thing is CONTROL.
