Pitfalls of the season
Saturday, March 26, 2005
I couldn’t help noticing, on stepping out of my front door this morning, that the collapse of some disused mine workings had created an enormous pit stretching several hundred feet into the earth; and it wasn’t long before I became aware that I was falling down it.
During my descent I had leisure to reflect on the true meaning of Easter, which is such an important time of year that even Jesus did something or other, though precisely what it was escapes my memory, I’ll have to look it up when I get back to my study, which may not happen in the immediate future as I’m lying at the bottom of a disused mineshaft with three broken legs and a fractured spleen.
Meanwhile, why not make Easter special this year by building an entire prisoner-of-war camp out of chocolate and chomping your way to freedom?
