What are META tags?

META tags are used for embedding information in your web page for the use of the server as well as passing indexing information to search engines and for automatic reloading to a different URL.

<META name="keywords" content="pet grooming, Palo Alto, dog">

Result:

The result of these tags would allow the search engines to pull this web page up sooner than one that didn't have META tags and only relied on the page Text.
