ANNE KELLY AUTHOR OF NOBODY'S CHILD LATEST UPDATES
Nobody's Child is a novel set in Co Cork,Ireland during the infamous famine years.
It tells the story of two children, Aine and Molly Murphy, who in desperation, were delivered to a workhouse in Cork by their heartbroken parents, in an attempt to save them from the ravages of the famine sweeping Co Cork, a terrible blight which had already cruelly robbed them of their younger children and most of their kith and kin.
You will be with Aine and Molly as they embark on a nightmare journey to America on one of the infamous 'coffin' ships, so named because very few of the passengers ever reached their destination.
You will cry, laugh and rejoice as the story unfolds.
This is not a story of despair, rather one of hope which will raise the spirits of those who read it. The strength of the Irish nation is embodied in the children's courage and strength. A strength so strong that nothing could vanquish it.
The novel authentically written by Irish author Anne Kelly will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions from great sadness to great joy. You won't want to put it down.
NOBODY'S CHILD - IRISH NOVEL BY ANNE KELLY
How can I describe my enthusiam for writing about my country and my people. I could adjectives to describe the land such as spectacular, magical, warm, earthy, musical; i could go on and on. Such is my deep passion for Ireland that I wanted to capture some of it's history and I wrote Nobody's Child.
The story is everything that Ireland means to me, brave, strong, soft, gentle, nurturing, and so much more. Read this book and you will experince many emotions as you see things through the eyes of a child trapped in the horror years of the infamous famine. It tells how her parents, like so many parents at that terrible period in our history, were forced to send their beloved daughters Aine and Molly to the poorhouse in a desperate attempt to save their lives. I say desperate because to send anyone to the poor house was almost always a signature for their death, such was the cruelty and condition within those frightening establishments. Go and buy Nobody's Child and read just what this child went through along with her little Sister Molly, I guarantee you will break your heart more than once as the story unfolds. I hope you enjoy reading my book. Anne Kelly.
