There are numerous valid interpretations of this section of ezekiel. This one represents a combination of those fitting the exploded planet hypothesis. It was presented by ezekiel as a diatribe against the rich and beautiful city,state and ruler of Tyre. Tyre might have been a past worshipper of the exploded planet.
The whole lament/dirge was sung mockingly by wailing women.
Theme. A perfect gleaming planet in heavenly Eden was destroyed before the eyes of the whole world. Ashes fell to earth, taking the island state which revered it as their Guardian angel beneath the waves.
Many centuries later, Ezekiel, an ASTRONOMER PRIEST, is expecting another close approach of a cosmic body. This may be 'the covering cherub' which in some interpretations is a cosmic body SEPARATE from the one destroyed in the past. When out of sight, this 'covering cherub' is in the underworld.
The approacher will destroy wicked Tyre.
28:14 When you looked to the North up to Heaven above the stationary plateau of the Mountain of Assembly of the gods/the sacred home of Elohim on High/ Zion [Isaiah 14:13 E 393], you could see an Eden, a garden of God.
'Assembly of gods' = stars/planets when seen in occassional close proximity to each other as 'fiery stones' in mountain vicinity
Eden and the whole region of Paradise was shaded/guarded by the flashing sword and radiant atmosphere of the perfectly proportioned/ spherical glorious gleaming Cherub/Lucifer/Son of the Morning. This body set the seal on perfection.
there may have been 2 bodies very similar to each other, 1 called Lucifer & the other a thickly shaded CherubThey may even have been very close to each other, even seeming to be joined as seen form earth [not twins but companions before 1 was destroyed]
a third possibility is that the colossal body was simply 'parted'. The smaller but brighter part was eventually destroyed.
The covering shielding towering Cherub was a member of Yahweh's heavenly court in the heavenly realm, a bearer of his throne. [E 393]
28:13 The colossal cherub had sprung forth whole/full-sized as a perfectly proportioned spangling body. Its gleaming body of royal splendour and wisdom was covered/adorned/hedged/clothed/girdled/enclosed with a gorgeous coat/canopy/shading/protective structure of precious stones of all colours . These gem stones were part of the body's topographical environment.
Its whole body was an exquisitely carved seal which sparkled
green red & white
Its surface was covered in shimmering jingling grooves, orifices, piercings, bored out holes,conical chambers and sockets [= craters, channels, rills] weregolden
priests dress and people dance in imitative memory of the heavenly body.
The diadem set with precious stones was encompassed by a crown of beauty, a signet ring of artistic beauty and intricate design.
In Eden, it wandered amongst 8 flashing fire stones [stars/planets/satellites/aerolites/flint stones]
28:16-19 All the nations revered it. They were all observing it on one of the special occasions.
Yahweh/the Elohim entered the sacred holy sanctuary in heaven, exerting an abnormal influence on the body.
Suddenly, to the onlooker's puzzlement, a dark patch sullied the gleaming body of the Cherub. The belly of the body darkened. The darkness spread out quickly. Suddenly, the darkness glowed. A fire had kindled in the heart of its body.
Then:
Astonishment! TERROR!
To the horror of all watching from earth, this deep glow quickly and violently spread, darkening the body and filling all its sphere of orbit. As it spread, a bolt of cataclysmic fire shot/broke out.[bolt may be one from Yahweh [or the fiery stones in the same habitat/area] who [28:16] admits to killing the body by flinging it to the ground with devouring fire].
In a flash, the all consumed body became like a flaming sword in the sky. And suddenly, incredibly, the body was gone!
28:16 The perfect cherub had been driven out as profane.
All the nations saw this. Their horror heightened when plunging ashes from the completely consumed sphere fell to earth, sinking the island state which held it as its Guardian angel.
Places which revered this body represented it as 2 temple pillars lit by night [Fairburn]
28:8 The burnt out remains of the once gorgeous sphere lie in Sheol/ the PIT/ the Underworld, with the island state and its ruler. It is a shade of its former self.
Watch out Tyre! The same fate awaits you in the coming cosmic cataclysm.
Your destruction is imminent. The
approacher
returns to destroy you as it did the once gorgeous Cherub/ Lucifer.see 3 close approaches in Amos/Isaiah 747 - 701 bc

Again, a past catastrophe is being described to warn Israel what's in store.
The lord sets Zion under a cloud. He casts down the SPLENDOUR OF ISRAEL from Heaven to Earth.
He cuts off the HORN of Israel. He burns against Jacob like a flaming fire which devours round about. He pours out his fury like fire. He swallows up all the palaces.

Text can be translated in a number of ways. In particular, Hebrew had no vowels. This means word choice is made from a number of candidates.
Divisions, punctuations and CAPITAL letters, as in all bible texts, are arbitrary. This can make it difficult to judge such connections as subject and object referred to.
In addition, there are problems caused by editorial changes and text losses.
