Joseph WALKER, son of Alexander Walker and Jane Hammer, was born March 14, 1771 at Rockbridge County, VA. He, with his brothers, James and David, moved from Rockbridge County, VA. to Adair County, Kentucky Sept 25, 1795 and settled on Pettits Fork. He died on March 30, 1839 in Adair County, Kentucky. He married Katherine Kelso in April 1794. Katherine died in Adair County on November 14, 1838. He made sixteen trips on horseback back to Virginia to visit relatives.

Their children were:
